Australian Gold Gem & Treasure magazine was first published by Minelab Electronic Industries in the early 1980s before it was acquired by Express Publications Pty Ltd in 1987. It remained with Express until July 2000 when it joined the current publisher, The Magazine Works Pty Ltd.

In addition to Australian Gold Gem & Treasure magazine, The Magazine Works Pty Ltd publishes Australian Garden Guide magazine and a range of puzzle magazines including Sudoku puzzles and crossword puzzles.

The Magazine Works Pty Ltd is committed to maintaining the integrity and independence of Australian Gold Gem & Treasure magazine and will continue to ensure its content is dedicated to promoting the interests of recreational gold prospectors and gem fossickers throughout Australia.

The Magazine Works Pty Ltd invites editorial contributions from readers of Australian Gold Gem & Treasure magazine. All published articles are paid for and any photographic materials supplied are returned after publication.
