KING TIDE BONANZA

By Mitch (the Coin) Hunter

I bought my Garrett Ace 250 detector a few weeks before the school holidays from the Gold Mining Centre in Adelaide. It quickly proved its capabilities in the back paddock although it was mostly tin and other rubbish that I found.

About a week later dad and I tried our luck at a beach nearby but the only thing we had to show for our effort was a milk carton we found a few metres away from where someone had been camping.

The next stop was an old homestead but we didn't have much time and it had already been picked over.

Then, a week later, we heard reports that the Christmas king tide had exposed coins on the local beaches and I decided this was my best chance to add to my coin collection as I have been collecting coins for several years.
